ACME Solar Holdings Limited has commissioned 142.67 MW/481.49 MWh of battery energy storage system(BESS) capacity in Rajasthan under phase I of its planned 585 MW/2,011.24 MWh BESS portfolio across various special purpose vehicles.
The commissioned systems are connected to the existing inter-state transmission system and will initially operate on a merchant basis in the short term to capture price differentials between peak and non-peak demand hours. These assets will subsequently be integrated with the company’s firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects, which will operate under power purchase agreements for 25 years.
