Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) re-invited bids for natural draft cooling towers (NDCT) package for the 1,320 MW Rajiv Gandhi (Korba West) Thermal Power Plant on October 4, 2025. The last date for bid submission is October 14, 2025. Bids for the same were earlier invited in June 2025.
The work is expected to be completed in 1,095 days.
The project, comprising two units of 660 MW each with super critical technology, will be implemented by Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL) in Korba district entailing an investment of Rs 129.15 billion. The project is expected to be operational by 2028 and be commissioned by 2029-30.
